Church History

This is a formal course I wrote and taught on church history. This course took me several months to develop and research. I had felt strongly led to better understand the history of Christianity so I would know how we arrived at the modern-day church from our roots contained in the Biblical history in the Scriptures.

If you look around the world today, you will see numerous denominations (and religions) that have different beliefs, but all claim to be true. So how did we get here? Why are there so many different beliefs when we proclaim to believe in the same God? These questions were pressing on my heart and led me to seek answers. The way I learn complex topics or to find answers to difficult questions is to seek an understanding of the overall picture. I need to see all the events (step by step) that led to the issue at hand. I applied this process to understanding church history, which led to me spending numerous months and hundreds of hours of time analyzing all of the critical events that took place from the end of the Biblical account in the Scriptures, to the formation of the modern-day church. 

The results of this work are reflected in this simple layman’s course on church history.  I wanted to help others learn the truths that I had discovered, so that they too could have a greater understanding of our history.
